Atty. Herminio "Harry" Lopez Roque Jr. is a Filipino lawyer, politician, and former law professor.
As Spokesperson of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (2017 to 2018 and 2020 to 2021), Harry spearheaded the government's information campaign during the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak.
Roque taught Constitutional Law and Public International Law for 15 years at the University of the Philippines College of Law
In his law practice, he notably represented and won a victory for the victims of the 2009 Maguindanao Massacre and the family of Jennifer Laude, a transwoman killed by a U.S. Marine. He also represented before the Supreme Court the Malaya Lolas, a group representing Filipino comfort women victims during WWII.
Harry ran in the 2022 senatorial elections under the Uniteam coalition, a decision which he and his ally, Vice-President Sara Duterte now deeply regret. They have both expressed dissatisfaction over the current administration.
